If Gary Cahill was still a Chelsea defender, he would be Lampard's first name on the team sheet

If Gary Cahill was still a Chelsea defender, he would be Lampard's first name on the team sheet Chelsea's leakage of goals has been Frank Lampard's biggest problem all season. For Lampard to still be mixing up his backline with two games to go just shows how untrustworthy our current defenders are. Conceding a Chelsea Premier League high of 49 goals, it is clear this is not good enough for a side attempting to get compete with Europe's elite. Rudiger allowing Yarmolenko to cut in for Chelsea's 3-2 defeat to West Ham  Antonio Rudiger was bought to help replace John Terry in 2017 but has never stepped up to the plate of taking responsibility to lead that defense. This season is a clear example of why Rudiger is not good enough. If we compare him to former Chelsea and now Bournemouth defender, Nathan Ake, it's clear why this is. Baring in mind that Ake is in a relegation battle, it's quite a remarkable difference stats wise. Ake has made fewer err

Chelsea fans must look at the bigger picture when it come to Tariq Lamptey

Chelsea fans must look at the bigger picture when it comes to Tariq Lamptey Tariq Lamptey was Frank Lampard's eighth academy graduate to make their professional debut alongside Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori, Reece James, Billy Gilmour, Marc Guehi, Ian Maatsen, and Tino Anjorin. Willing to commit their future to Chelsea, Tariq Lamptey had other plans to further his career. Chelsea celebrating their 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Emirates  Lamptey made his debut, coming off the bench at the Emirates, to help inspire a 2-1 win over Arsenal in late December. Frank Lampard and Jody Morris had hoped by parachuting him into such a huge fixture, it would convince the teenager to agree on his future with the London Club. But Lamptey could see through that.  We don't know but it's clear Lamptey demanded first-team football but with the likes of Captain, Cesar Azpilicueta, and fellow graduate, Reece James, ahead in the pecking order. It was obvious the chances of getting a

Jorginho's time at Chelsea near the end?

Jorginho's time at Chelsea near the end? Chelsea play Crystal Palace tonight with the Blues looking to repeat the performance against Watford on Saturday night, to help cement their place in the top four.  During the 3-0 win over Watford, injury concern hit N'golo Kante, who had to be subbed off in the 78th minute with a tight hamstring. Lampard stated "Kante will not be in the squad. He hurt his hamstring, [it is a] low-level hamstring injury."..."We are hoping it is going to be a week or so. We are going to see how it goes but I would suspect we would be very lucky to have him for Sheffield United". The injury of Kante is a dilemma for Lampard. Since the restart, Kante has starred in all five matches keeping Vice Captain, Jorginho, out of the starting XI. Rumours have been bubbling that Jorginho has fallen out of favour with Lampard and his playing time proves that. Jorginho influencing an away win at Arsenal    Chelsea fans feel as th

Is Frank Lampard getting the credit he truly deserves?

Is Frank Lampard getting the credit he truly deserves? Chelsea fans everywhere knew what a tough season ahead it would be. With the loss of their greatest ever player, Eden Hazard, a transfer ban and losing manager, Maurizio Sarri, to Juventus. It's fair to say morale was low at Stamford Bridge. Frank Lampard becomes Chelsea manager The Chelsea board knew they had to restore the passion in the club. Fans were split about Chelsea's style of play, with half the fans calling Sarri out and the rest wanting him to stay.  The appointment of Frank Lampard changed everything. A promise of academy players to be injected into the squad, something the previous Chelsea manager lacked at doing. Callum Hudson - Odoi and Ruben Loftus -Cheek were stand out players for Chelsea last season but due to their age, Sarri favoured a more experienced line up.  It has taken the perfect storm for Chelsea to finally accept their youth products with Lampard introducing 12 new academ

What can we learn from Chelsea's 3-0 win over Watford? After Chelsea's midweek shambles versus West Ham, it was important for Chelsea to strike back with a win. Both Man United and Leicester secured victories pushing the Blues out of the top four for the first time since October 2019.  But Chelsea managed to regain their 4th spot by defeating Watford 3-0. Goals from Olivier Giroud, Willian and a 90th minute goal from Ross Barkley, who all had influential performances. But after today's result, what can we learn from this win?  Defensive issues solved? It was clear that after Chelsea's 3-2 loss to West Ham, there were serious question marks on the blues nervous defence. For this game, Toni Rudiger and Marcos Alonso had both been dropped and fairly right too. They were both at fault for West Ham's late winner leaving Chelsea fans fuming.  Replacements, Kurt Zouma and Reece James, were brought to the starting XI and what a difference they made. Azp

Chelsea back line in need of desperate reshuffle...

Chelsea back line in need of desperate reshuffle... Its not the first time this season Chelsea's back four has been up for criticism, It's been a problem for Frank Lampard ever since he arrived. First move Lampard made with his defence was showing Chelsea legend, David Luiz, the door after just a month in charge. Now as this season draws to a close, it's time for Lampard to hit some more home truths, as mistakes are mounting up. So let's start from each position... Goalkeeper Chelsea signed Spanish goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, for a world record transfer goalkeeper fee of £71.6m. The hope was that he was going to be the next David De Gea, a young goalkeeper to be the backbone of this Chelsea squad for the next 7 years.  Admittedly, I feel as though Kepa had a good first season for Chelsea. He had won us two penalty shoot outs, one coming in the Europa League Semi-Final against Eintracht Frankfurt and another coming in the League Cup Semi-Final VS
